My 8 year old just walked in and asked for my phone. Why, I ask? So she can check on tomorrow\u2019s weather forecast to decide what she will wear. Am keeping a straight face but I don’t know if I should be impressed or amused!<\/span><\/p>\n

Side Note: I asked about school. \u201cVery boring,\u201d she said. \u201cThe teacher won\u2019t even allow us to pass notes in class!\u201d I told her not to worry; tomorrow evening, I\u2019d teach her and Laila (her best friend, in the same neighborhood) how to \u201cback-pass\u201d seamlessly. \u201cWe must make school great again!,\u201d I chest-thumped. Oh, how she lit up and skipped away with a spring in her step. Knowing my munchkin, that\u2019s all she wanted to hear; that someone she loves understands. She won\u2019t come for that lesson. \u201cI hear you.\u201d \u201cI feel you.\u201d \u201cI see you.\u201d We all need this on our hardest days. That’s what God does for us.
