Glad to be back to my life
style routine. And this morning came with a lesson on its heels: Far from street whistles and church bells, crashing cymbals and drum rolls; far from the gleaming shop displays and bright city lights, God speaks to us in the mundane, the humdrum of everyday life. It’s the despised shepherds minding sheep by night that received the invitation to witness the quiet and yet epic transition in the rising tide of human history with the Messiah’s birth. It’s the espoused 14 year-old teenage Mary going about her domestic chores that the Angel appeared to. And it’s Moses, the beleaguered run-away prince of Egypt, tending his father-in-law’s sheep on the backside of the desert, that the LORD revealed Himself to in a burning bush.
