To The Moon - And Back! What are the simple pleasures of your life? One of those for me is a regular night at home. There is something about nightfall that is so serene. Tranquil. An antidote to the madness of our days. The blanket of darkness is a reminder that the day is done and so is the travail. It’s God peering down at his children and saying, “Look. You did your best. Let me do the rest. You go rest. Leave it to me, hey. I’ll be up all night, anyway!

For the many nights am away, when am home, I cherish the opportunity to put the girls to bed. The older ones are settling into their own night routines but I still have this munchkin. She will not close her eyes until am at her bedside. So tonight we read, for the umpteenth time (complete with actions), Sam McBratney’s “ ,” now a family classic. The tale of the Nutbrown Hares competing to measure their love for one another, and Big Nutbrown Hare’s heart-warming declaration to Little Nutbrown Hare, ‘I love you right up to the moon – and back’, melts my heart every time. If only we loved each other this much. If only love was this simple. I say, the world would be so peaceful tonight. And when I tossed Jaszy up, and on descent tucked her straight into her bed, I leaned over and kissed her good night. She held my hand back, and whispered, with a smile, “I love you right up to where God lives – and back.” Touché! But for another man who died for me, I could never measure up to this kind of love!
