Mike Tyson used to say everybody has a strategy. That is, until you are punched in the mouth. This quip holds true in the boxing ring as it does in the realm of business. And as if punches were not destabilizing enough, this season served up curveballs and zingers galore. Many business owners have had to wear many hard hats in rapid succession. That’s what happens when one moment you are the fire department and the next you are the police force, and then maintenance guy. That thought was on my mind as I heard stories of resilience from these entrepreneurs – two of East Africa’s finest. They are also my former classmates. We last met in 2019.For the entrepreneurs that have held on to the ropes through the storm, we are entering a season of great prosperity. It’s time to steady the ship, throw excess baggage overboard, trim the sails, and position yourself. And if you must – disembark with all the valuable cargo and the remaining useable pieces, burn the ship, say a prayer and build bigger, and better.

You, my brother have great words. With deep meaning. Alive. Yes, deeply alive words. Have had to burn the ship. Then looked at it as it burned. Then wading across the waters. And realizing how deep the waters are. But so glad I could swim. Holding onto that which matters the most. And from afar, can see the lights. Still far. But the zest to get there is more now than propelling THE ship

Charity, whoa! You know, sometimes we hold to what is in the past. And we entirely miss the glorious future that’s on the horizon!

Words of inspiration.
Yes it’s a challenging period for entrepreneurs but the toughest shall sail through indeed.

Hoping against hope. Naye, muganda wange, webale. Reading wasn’t any of my hobbies, but your writing is a great inspiration to some of us. It is good to know that we have men, the Daniel kind who God has gifted with great wisdom.

Eddie Opale neither am I. But I’ve developed a habit of checking Facebook daily for Jacob Zikusooka ‘s posts. And since 2020 grounded us, I hope this year he won’t close for Xmas.
