My 8 year old just walked in and asked for my phone. Why, I ask? So she can check on tomorrow’s weather forecast to decide what she will wear. Am keeping a straight face but I don’t know if I should be impressed or amused!

Side Note: I asked about school. “Very boring,” she said. “The teacher won’t even allow us to pass notes in class!” I told her not to worry; tomorrow evening, I’d teach her and Laila (her best friend, in the same neighborhood) how to “back-pass” seamlessly. “We must make school great again!,” I chest-thumped. Oh, how she lit up and skipped away with a spring in her step. Knowing my munchkin, that’s all she wanted to hear; that someone she loves understands. She won’t come for that lesson. “I hear you.” “I feel you.” “I see you.” We all need this on our hardest days. That’s what God does for us. Why don’t we do this for each other?
