One thing I like about a new year is the almost palpable hope it brings along. It’s an artist stretching out a blank canvas to paint on. It’s that kid whose first day of school has finally come around. Another 365 days of Possibility. And yet the truth remains: In God’s economy, time is measured way differently from earth time. It’s measured in seasons. Seasons that are governed not by clocks, calendars and the weather but by Revelation and Truth. The single greatest choice you can make at the start of a new Gregorian calendar year is not to live out another lofty resolution that will fall by the wayside come February, but hold to the determination to seek Truth and follow the God who presides over the changing seasons of life. Only then will you find your mountain and have the courage to climb it.
